Uganda Children’s Centre (UCC) beat Infectious Disease Institute (IDI) 3-1 to win the Inaugural National Civil Society Sports League that climaxed over the weekend at MUBS. UCC skipper Gabriel Mulwana was key to his team’s inaugural title victory after scoring 31 goals in the whole tournament that kicked off in March this year . over the previous match UCC walloped Youth in Leadership Forum (YLF) 7-3, thumped Teens Uganda (TEENS) 10-2, beats United Religion Institute (URI)4-1 and later drew with Sport Eye Foundation Uganda (SEFU) 3-3 to top the table with 31 points. while rivals IDI who landed second place also with 31 point had earlier thumped Uganda Youth Guidance and Development Association (UYCDA) 4-1 and beaten Sport and Eye Foundation Uganda (SEFU) 3-0 before they lost to the Champions in the last game at the same venue. In the other action United Nations Children’s Education Fund (UNICEF) beat GPF 1-0 to finish in third place with 30 points, a point behind UCC and IDI in first and second place respectively. The inaugural event attracted 18 civil society teams drawn from across the country.
